History is full of great leaders, terrible ideas, questionable haircuts, and people who really should have stopped to ask for directions.
That's why we started One Star Tees.
We're a small, family-owned business here in the United States, and we make shirts for people who love history — and love poking a little fun at it. Not the dusty, memorize-these-dates version. The real version: emperors with short tempers, explorers who got very lost, inventions that went sideways, and famous faces who would've gotten a one-star review if Yelp had been around.
Some of our shirts are puns. Some are roasts. Some are one-star reviews of things that happened 500 years ago. But they all start with the same idea:
History is way funnier than they told you in school.
A family that can't stop talking about this stuff
One Star Tees is run by a family that genuinely loves history — the kind of family where dinner turns into a debate about which Founding Father would be the worst roommate, and road trips somehow always include a museum, a fort, or a very old rock with a plaque on it.
Every design starts with a joke one of us couldn't stop laughing at. If it doesn't land with the whole table — including the one who slept through history class — it doesn't make it onto a shirt.
What we care about
- Jokes that land. You shouldn't need a history degree to get it (but it helps if you want to explain it at parties).
- Big, bold designs. Art you can read from across the room, not a textbook page glued to your chest.
